About me and my practice
As a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist I have gained a wide range of diverse clinical experiences by working with clients who have suffered from various issues. A few examples of issues I have dealt with are trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, work and study related issues, identity and cultural problems, abuse, eating disorders, low self-esteem.
I trained within the psychodynamic framework. This means that during our sessions we will work on identifying how your past experiences and past relationships have affected your current life and the issues you may be experiencing.
Our first meeting will help me to make an initial assessment of your situation and will also give you an opportunity to gain a sense of whether you feel comfortable with me in order for us to work together. Additionally, this session will give you an opportunity to explore what you would like to gain from counselling/psychotherapy and give us a chance to establish whether you would like to commit to a short-term or potentially open-ended basis. This will ultimately be your decision and can naturally change over the course of therapy.
Experience
I have gained diverse clinical experiences by working in different clinical settings such as in charities (Nafsiyat and the Middle Eastern Women and Society Organisation) within the educational setting (Kings College London Mathematics School) as well as within private practice for private counselling organisations such as Novo in Bromley and Self Space in London.
